It's that time of the year again to admire those beautiful orchid displays, take photos, attend free orchid classes and purchase plants for your collection from the various orchid vendors. So bring your family and friends to our show along with your camera, notepad and your checkbook :)

These talks are open to everyone. Do you have a friend or co-worker who has just started growing orchids? Let them know about the free presentations at our show.

Growing Phalaenopsis in the Home
Speaker: Evelyn Cohen (MOS)

Phalaenopsis orchids are for sale everywhere – from the big box store to the supermarket. Evelyn will discuss how to grow and bloom these popular plants in the home. She grows the Phalaenopsis orchid to perfection in her home on the windowsill.

Growing Under Lights
Speaker: Katherine Slaughter (MOS)

Katherine has been growing orchids since 2009 with artificial light. She has been able to grow some of the more unusual and challenging orchids under lights. If you would like to expand your growing space or need to augment the available light from your windows with artificial light, this presentation is for you!

Speaker: Yvonne Whitely (MOS)

Yvonne brings her enthusiam for growing orchids as she discusses the basics for growing these plants in the home. Yvonne grows a variety of orchids in her greenhouse.

Growing Dendrobium Phalaenopsis in the Home
Speaker: Kathy Mykolajenko (MOS)

These orchids can be grown and flowered in the home in a south facing window. They have the ability to rebloom on previously bloomed growths and the flowers last for weeks. Learn how to grow and bloom these orchids in the home.

Orchid Growing Basics
Speaker: Carolyn Butcher (MOS)

At one time Carolyn grew orchids under lights in an area that occupied half of her basement. Carolyn will discuss the basics of growing orchids in the home. She collected orchids in the wild from different parts of the world when it was still permissable and has seen the different ecosystems that orchids grow in.

Repotting Demonstration
Speaker: Patti DeMaire (MOS)

Are you hesistant to repot your orchid? Not sure how you should repot it or when you should repot it? Patti will demonstrate how to repot orchids. Bring any questions you have as to how to repot the plant you own.
